Poconos, PA (June 12, 2023) – Since opening last year, Poconos ParkTM has become a cherished gathering place for community members and visitors from New Jersey, New York, and beyond! The 200-acre facility has played home to some of the biggest music events in the area and brought headliners ranging from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Brett Young to Uncle Kracker to its stages. But the one thing that has been missing is the sight of Old Glory waving in the wind as you enter the park, up until now that is!

On Wednesday, June 14, at 10:00 A.M. Eastern, the first-ever official raising of the American flag over Poconos Park (symbolizing resilience, community spirit, and our commitment to honoring our nation’s flag) will take place. This specific flag was gifted to Poconos Park by a veteran of the Vietnam War.

“When we purchased this property, we had no idea that the flagpole was broken,” saysJohn Oakes, proprietor of Poconos Park. “We are delighted to share the fantastic news that the Bushkill Volunteer Fire Company repaired the flagpole, restoring it to its former glory. Now, on this momentous occasion in celebration of Flag Day, we rise and salute our firemen and our flag at the same time.”

The sight of the flag fluttering proudly against the backdrop of Poconos Park will serve as a powerful reminder of the unity and the history of our country.

In addition, we are excited to announce that the highly acclaimed country supergroup,Ricochet, will be joining us as a special guest and will perform the National Anthem live. Ricochet has a remarkable legacy and is renowned for their unparalleled rendition of our National Anthem. They are the only country artist to ever chart our National Anthem, and their performances have enthralled audiences across the nation. Their powerful renditions have echoed through the halls of our military events, NASCAR, Major League Baseball, NFL, NHL, PBR, and PRCA Professional Rodeo, and numerous other national events.
